C&MC PRICING POLICY

This is an excellent site. In my opinion the best C&MC site available Two new facilities blocks Refurbished driveways and hardstandings Excellent outdoor play area for children Excellent modern indoor games/TV room Large dog walking area Minutes from the Park&Ride into Scarborough Very peaceful woodland setting Immaculate kept grounds Very friendly and approachable team who are a credit to the club Why then on the warmest and sunniest weekend of the year (which had been forecast for several days) was the site less than half full. The answer has got to be the pricing policy of the club. There is clearly a lot of competition in the area which you are losing out to. Why not price midweek pitches at £20 for a unit x 2 adults. Because of the pricing policy I am seriously considering not renewing my membership this year

Great site

An immaculate site with a great friendly team. Access is good and the toilet blocks are impeccable. There is loads to see nearby and bus stop is only a few minutes walk away. The village is small but has 2 good pubs, 2 fish and chip shops ( one is a restaurant ) and a top notch mini supermarket and petrol station. The dog field is big, well kept and fully enclosed. Plenty of walking nearby. Ideal for a relaxing holiday, exploring the countryside or visiting nearby Scarborough, Whitby, Bempton Cliffs, Pickering and the North York Moors. Perfect site.....just a bit pricey

Free WiFi is very poor

It must take a lot of effort to make a wifi system so poor. It would take at least 5 attempts to join , if you eventually did. Then chances are it would say no Internet access. It is so consistently bad that it seems intentionally so I used to join for the year on the paid system. Was not the greatest. But don't stay on club sites enough now.

Incredible

We stayed at this wonderful site for our Easter Holiday. From the moment we arrived we were amazed with the site. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were immaculate. The games room was a special bonus too, although our children were too young to appreciate it, it will be worth revisiting when they are older. The pitches were all clean and tidy and I have my eye on the new premium pitches with their own picnic bench and BBQ area for next time!

Outstanding Site

From the minute we arrived the site team were just outstanding. Reception staff extremely helpful and friendly. The site wardens were absolutely lovely, so friendly and kind, made so much effort and always had big smiles on their faces. Maybe because it’s such a pleasant place to work. We had pitch 99 which was lovely, felt very private. I think the way they’ve set the pitches are just perfect. The whole site was immaculately clean too, no rubbish or dog poo around. I think because the grounds are so well kept it makes people want to keep it that way. The bin stores were immaculate too… very well maintained and looked after. The park and games room were such a treat too. Hopefully next time we will get close to the park so the little one can just run across and play. Such a lovely field and also nice dog walking area. The premium pitches looked amazing with the picnic benches and the bbq stand, very clever touch, we will definitely book on one next time. The shower / toilet blocks were also immaculate. So clean that after I showered I actually took the brush as cleaned up. Just so clean and well kept. I visited very early in the morning / lunch time and also later on in the evening and each time it was as clean as the last! By far the best site we’ve visited yet. Extremely quiet and well laid out. Feels very rural yet super close to shops, pubs, Scarborough and Filey. Super impressed and already looking to book in 2 months time for another visit.

Steve, the warden, was outstanding

PLEASE DISREGARD THE PREVIOUS REVIEW - WE CLICKED 5 STARS ON EVERYTHING AND IT GLITCHED ON SUBMISSION. First off, the site is lovely - the shower blocks have been beautifully refurbished since our last visit and it is much more convenient being able to still shower at one end whilst the other is being cleaned. We need to thank Steve Lorton who came to our assistance when my husband had a medical episode and subsequently went to Scarborough A&E. He was calm and took control of the situation, helping to organise a taxi as we were unable to drive to the hospital and the wait on the ambulance was over an hour. He looked after our caravan, car and keys whilst we were away and to him, we would like to say another thank you very much. Steve is an asset to the Caravan and Motorhome club.

Scarborough, West Ayton, stunning

Had two nights here, and it is wonderful. Lively and humorous greeting from the Warden at that time - Steve Lorton - a most engaging entity and wonderful host. The facilities here tick every box: hotel-standard amenities, with wonderful shower and toilet block, including bathrooms - with baths! The dog-running field is outstanding. This site is a total credit to the Club, well done!

Back after the refurb'

Just had 7 glorious sunny days at this site after its recent refurbishment. I have got to say the toilet/shower facilities are fantastic, well done to the club for spending the money on a very modern set up, and the idea of them never being closed whilst cleaning is also a massive improvement. The site was immaculate and tidy, the wardens were very chatty and friendly but as a previous review I was a little disappointed these was no on site shop for either an Ice Cream or caravan supplies. The site was rather empty when we stayed (17 - 24 June) so the choice of pitches was easy. Large enclosed dog walk away from any pitches and a large childrens play area. You will need very strong rock pegs if staying on a hardstanding, I bent several of mine as did our neighbour when trying to put up our awnings, I did hear a few choice words from other campers who also had similar problems. The site has easy access to any of the coastal towns and the near-by pubs offer nice food and drink. We will be returning to this site in the future.

Peaceful & clean site

Very clean new facilities with dual loos/showers so no locking out when cleaning so great idea. Quiet apart from a few bird scarers in next field. Was surprised site was quite empty. Nice big pitches @ £39.80 for hard & EHU it is fairly expensive but I guess they have to pay to upgrade sites. Shame you still have to pay for WiFi as it's free with the other Camping club. Very disappointed & surprised there was No shop thus no papers, sweets, icecreams which limits interaction with staff & makes site less homely. Having been on many sites this seemed odd. I know the Spar shop was down the road but it's not the same.Thought that the site appeared 'Soulless' to me. Bus at bottom of road every 2 hours to Scarborough where lots to do & see.2 nice pubs close so useful for motorhomers that leave their vehicle on site & trek out like us.
